Sorensen Family Reunion 2011 - Get Your Tickets Now!

Aug 18 2011 - 2:08pm

We here at the Sorensen Institute are pleased to announce the third annual Sorensen Family Reunion picnic! Join us on Saturday, September 17 for a full afternoon of food, music, and fun planned for everyone. Expect plenty of barbecue (and vegetarian options), great Virginia music courtesy of our alumni, bounce houses and more.

You have spoken, and we have listened. After a number of requests last year to make the event later in the day, we will begin this year's picnic at 4pm, going on until dark that evening. We will be holding the picnic at the same location as previous years, beside the airstrip at Bundoran Farm. The farm road to the site is Hightop Drive. The entrance gate to Hightop Drive is located on the south side of Plank Road, just west of Route 29, about 15 miles south of Charlottesville. Free parking will be provided. We will have some signage to help direct you to the gate.

As with previous years, your picnic experience will be greatly improved by bringing:
1. Picnic blanket (only a few tables and chairs will be available). Please bring a blanket to spread out on the ground.
2. Sun block and bug spray.
3. BYOB. If you want it, bring it.
4. Your best dessert item for the auction, the proceeds of which go to pay for the cost of the reunion and provide financial assistance to Sorensen program participants.

Discount advance tickets are available now— see details below.  If you have any questions, please contact Joe Stanley (434-243-2844). To purchase tickets, please call Tracy Tanner Bond at 434-982-4943. We look forward to seeing you and your family on the 17th!

Ticket prices are as follows (All advance tickets must be purchased by September 12th):

$25 per person in advance
$15 student price in advance.
All children 12 and under will be admitted FREE.
$35 per person at the gate on the day of the event: no exceptions.

We look forward to seeing you there!
